Spectacular aromas of blueberry muffin, pomegranate aril, and herbs de Provence lead into a palate rich in flavors of huckleberry preserves, red currant, and black peppercorn. Silky-smooth tannins linger along with notes of Bing cherry, vanilla bean, and black tea leaf. Dark fruits and balance make this the ideal pairing for Chinese five-spice BBQ duck meatballs or cider-braised pork shoulder. Enjoy now or cellar through 2029 for additional development in the bottle.
The dark color and inky texture of this Zinfandel helped to inspire its own name. The Pezzi King Estate vineyards planted on the rolling hillside above the house produce fruit that is traditionally darker than the rest. Once the sun passes over the hilltop trees this section of the vineyard is left in the dark. As it cools down before the rest of the estate it develops supple tannins and crisp acid along with its naturally dark pigment. The vast complexities and subtle simplicity of this intricate and full Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel make for a perfect complement to the midnight sky. Don’t believe us? Come stay at one of the guest houses and enjoy a relaxing night with a nice bottle of Midnight. You’ll see.
