Wonderful aromas of marionberry coulis, dried sage, and espresso encourage the sip that leads to flavors of black currant, blackberry, and sweet cinnamon. Full-bodied tannings linger like silk adorned with notes of blueberry, dark chocolate, and Chinese five spice. Incredible structure with a full body, this classic Petite Sirah is the perfect pairing for pan roasted rack of New Zealand spring lamb with wild rice and British mint sauce. Enjoy now or cellar through 2032 for additional development.
Grower Jim McMinn utilized Petite Sirah clippings from the original 1930’s planting when he re-planted his vineyard in 1998. This heritage clone of Petite Sirah thrives in the Russian River Valley thanks to the cool climate and well-draining soils. Often used in blending to add body and structure, cool climate Petite Sirah makes a distinctive stand-alone wine featuring ample tannins with balanced acidity and dark fruits with subtle spices. It has been said that Petite Sirah is so unique that the Angels take a little more than their fair share.
